Melodic Pianos LLC is owned and operated by Mary Beth Tawes. Mary Beth has studied Piano Technology under the direction of Rick Butler, RPT who has provided services to the Kennedy Center, National Symphony Orchestra and the White House.  Mary Beth is an accomplished pianist, enjoying a wide variety of musical styles, including including those of  Chopin, Beethoven and Joplin.   She feels there is wonderful music to be found in all types of pianos, whether vertical or grand, large or small. Music has always been Mary Beth's passion and has performed as a soprano in many musical groups throughout her life.  These include the University Choir at Virginia Tech, and choral groups in Knoxville, TN and Alexandria VA.  She also enjoys listening to all types of classical music, whether orchestral, piano, or choral.  She feels a special joy in hearing children perform, especially when she invites them to play their newly tuned piano. Mary Beth is an Associate member of the Piano Technicians Guild, Washington DC Chapter. Previous to her career in Piano Technology, Mary Beth was in the field of Project Management.  She has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
